Specjalność „Matematyka Nauczycielska”

Na studiach magisterskich można uzyskać uprawnienia do nauczania matematyki na wszystkich poziomach szkolnych, gdzie przedmiot matematyka występuje. Zatem gorąco zapraszamy zarówno absolwentów matematycznych studiów licencjackich ze specjalnością nauczycielską, jak i z inną specjalnością.  Pierwsi rozszerzą swoje uprawnienia o nauczanie matematyki w szkole ponadpodstawowej, a  drudzy uzyskają uprawnienia do nauczania matematyki od klasy 4 szkoły podstawowej aż do matury.

Na studiach magisterskich będą elementy matematyki potrzebne podczas pracy w szkole ponadpodstawowej. Pojawiają się też przedmioty matematyczne bardziej zaawansowane niż na studiach licencjackich, pomagające rozszerzyć matematyczne horyzonty, a także blok przedmiotów  pokazujących potencjalne sposoby wykorzystania technologii informatycznych. Dużą część wszystkich zajęć stanowią przedmioty służące bezpośrednio przygotowaniu do zawodu nauczyciela matematyki oraz  praktyki dotyczące kolejnych etapów edukacyjnych – zorganizowane podobnie jak na studiach licencjackich.

Ponadto

Na każdym etapie studiów jest okazja, by włączyć się nieobowiązkowo w wiele innych działań na naszym Wydziale. Można zaangażować się w różne projekty edukacyjne, pilotowane przez pracowników Instytutu Matematyki, w ramach których można zajęcia dla dzieci i młodzieży zaprojektować, prowadzić czy całkowicie samodzielnie zorganizować. Można zdobyć doświadczenie pracy przy  imprezach masowych (takich jak np. Bałtycki Festiwal Nauki), organizacji konkursów matematycznych lub nawet próbnej matury.

Staramy się, by podczas studiów nie pomijać  nowoczesnych technologii – praca z komputerem i tablicą multimedialną staje się bowiem standardem. Nawet jeśli czujesz pewne obawy przed zaawansowanymi technologiami, to nasze studia pomogą Ci te obawy przezwyciężyć. Wiele z naszych przedmiotów wymaga pracy z komputerem. Nauczysz się też korzystać z komputera podczas prowadzenia lekcji w szkole.

In the Master’s Degree course students acquire the right to teach mathematics in every educational level. You can join this specialization with Bachelor degree in Mathematics – no matter if you completed „Mathematical Education” in the first level or not. In the first case you will expend their license to teach beyond the primary school, the other can earn their license to teach in all educational levels, starting from the primary school up to the high school final exams.

In the Master’s studies you can find the elements of mathematics supporting the background necessary to teach mathematics in high school. There will be some subjects in the advanced level as compared to the bachelor studies, extending the mathematical horizons of our students. There is also set of lectures presenting possible application of information technologies and computers in the process of teaching. A big part of proposed lectures is directly related to the psychological and pedagogical preparation of our students. We should mention here additional set of practical training in schools similar to the one we offer during the Bachelor’s studies.

Students who plan to be great maths teachers are encouraged to choose one of the optional lectures such as: „History of mathematics”, „Software for mathematics education”, „Mathematics teaching students with special needs ”, „Modeling of mathematical concepts”, „School aspects of mathematics applications”.

When studying mathematics, no matter what specialization and level, students can voluntary participate in many activities performed in our Faculty. One can work in numerous educational projects supported by Institute of Mathematics staff, where one can teach kids on a popular level – but very often students come with fantastic ideas of their own and prepare entire show by themselves. You can get a lot of experience in preparation of high-scale events like annual Baltic Science Festival, different scientific competitions and conferences. This experience is priceless in the future professional career.

We always remember to keep pace with present computer technologies – computer and multimedia board are standard nowadays in majority of schools. And even if you feel a little bit afraid of all this electronic equipment, we will help you to overcome your fear.
