W Instytucie Matematyki prowadzone są dwa kierunki studiów magisterskich: Modelowanie matematyczne i analiza danych, uruchamiany od roku akademickiego 2020/2021 oraz kierunek Matematyka, prowadzony od początku istnienia Uniwersytetu Gdańskiego.

Seminarium magisterskie
Wszyscy studenci na studiach magisterskich są zobowiązani do wyboru seminarium magisterskiego, które trwa przez cały okres studiów. Na seminarium studenci poznają wybraną przez siebie dziedzinę matematyki. Czytają i referują fragmenty monografii lub artykuły z czasopism matematycznych oraz przygotowują pracę magisterską. Prowadzący seminarium doradza studentowi w wyborze zajęć fakultatywnych i monograficznych. Lista proponowanych seminariów magisterskich jest co roku inna – patrz seminaria magisterskie.
Przedmioty fakultatywne
Każdy student studiów magisterskich na kierunku matematyka jest zobowiązany do wyboru pewnej liczby wykładów fakultatywnych, zgodnie ze swoimi zainteresowaniami. Na specjalności teoretycznej jest to siedem wykładów semestralnych, na specjalności nauczycielskiej – cztery wykłady, na specjalności finansowej – pięć wykładów, a na matematyce stosowanej – siedem wykładów. Master’s seminars
Every student in master’s level is supposed to join one of Master’s seminars that goes on through entire timespan of the studies (i.e. two years). During the seminars students get to know the selected area of mathematics guided by their tutor. They read and present the pieces of monographs or papers from mathematical journals and prepare their master’s thesis. Tutor helps to choose optional lectures. Optional lectures
Every student of Master’s studies in mathematics has to choose certain number of optional lectures. Theoretical mathematics requires seven lectures, mathematical education specialization requires four lectures, while financial mathematics five. The list of all optional lectures if presented here.
